In Lieu is a playfully grounded Sydney-based clothing brand focused on designing elevated wardrobe staples.

I collaborated with the brand to develop a short 2D cel animation for the launch of their Avery Hoodie. Working closely with the Creative Director, I translated their mood boards and beat boards into a cohesive visual narrative aligned with the brand’s visual identity.

The project involved:

• Developing the animatic and timing structure to be locked off and approved,

• Illustrating and animating a 12-second video,

• Refining the visual style and colours to match the brand direction,

• Delivering final animation in multiple formats for social release, and

• Mixing and integrating supporting sound effects.

The final piece balances a playful narrative with clean product-focused framing, ensuring the hoodie remained central while the animation enhances the storytelling.
